A Perfect Setting for a Purposeful Event
Held at Thaba Eco Hotel — Johannesburg’s green heart — the event reflected a shared commitment to sustainable living. With solar energy, advanced water conservation, and waste management systems integrated into its operations, Thaba provided the ideal setting for this meaningful occasion.
“It’s an honour to host an event that so deeply aligns with who we are,” said
Kirsty Marais, Chief Excellence Officer at Thaba Eco Hotel. “Empowering young women who are passionate about protecting the environment is a cause close to our hearts. Their dedication to creating lasting change reminds us that sustainability is not just a responsibility — it’s a shared journey.”
Empowering Women, Empowering Change
The event was supported by long-standing partners including Skin Renewal SA, Samsonite, Cathay Pacific, Brand South Africa, Newsclip, and 321 Technical Systems. Together, they continue to uplift the women who dedicate their time and energy to community outreach, environmental education, and greening initiatives across South Africa.
Catherine Constantinides, Executive Director of Miss Earth South Africa, reflected on the importance of the programme:
“Sustainability and women’s empowerment are two sides of the same coin. When young women lead environmental change, communities shift, and narratives evolve. Empowered women are not only changemakers — they are earth-shakers.”
As the 2025 Miss Earth South Africa Green Team steps into their new roles, Thaba Eco Hotel is proud to stand alongside them in championing sustainability, empowerment, and action — one tree, one woman, and one community at a time.
